We shot everything in the sun with no direction or plan other than to be inspired by our surroundings.”

“Bayan simply has one of the best heads of hair in the world and Dat was itching to get his hands on it while I simply wanted any reason at all to shoot with her again. Since a location shoot was not practical with the amount of hair changes, I agreed to shoot in a studio much to the delight of the rest of the team. Dat has his hopes up that I will get converted to become a studio shooter; I hope he’s not holding his breath!”

“We had wanted to do a shoot on Toronto Island with late afternoon light, but after missing the ferry by 15 seconds we got a rather late start and didn’t really get any direct sunlight. What we got instead was gorgeous soft light during a rapidly darkening evening, and what was meant as a swimsuit shoot turned into more of a lifestyle shoot as temperatures dropped. By the time we were heading back we were wishing we had packed hoodies! “

“With summer here, I knew my makeup artist and friend Emily was just dying to play with some colour to go with the current trends. I didn’t have anything specific in mind that I wanted to shoot so I let her play and after looking at what she had done I decided to light it with direct sunlight to saturate the colour and pick up the sheen on Alanna’s skin to create a warm summer feel.”

“We did this shoot in about 15 min in my back yard. It was an afterthought using only one clothing article in different ways. We had wrapped up the shooting for the day, but the light was so nice I couldn’t put my camera away just yet.”
